Display for remarketing and reach

The Google Display Network reaches millions of sites and apps. Left on automatic, budgets drift to mobile games and low-quality sites that generate accidental clicks. That is why many advertisers write Display off as waste.

FOCUSADS uses Display in narrow roles: remarketing to visitors who showed intent, contextual placements on sites your buyers read, and managed lists you can audit.

Budget suitability

Test budgets are our planning guidance for a fair monthly test. Platform minimums are separate, and media is paid directly to platforms or media owners.

$500 to $3,000

Test budget, per month

Remarketing budgets scale with site traffic; we cap them by audience size.

At US price levels the planner will not fund this channel below $1,000 of media a month per market, because the signal below that is too thin to act on. In other markets the threshold follows the local price level. That is our planning estimate, not a platform minimum.

Funnel role
Awareness, Retention, Conversion
Audience strategy
  • Remarketing lists by page depth and recency
  • Contextual keywords and topics
  • Managed placement lists, with app categories excluded by default

Measurement model

Attribution note. View-through conversions from Display are capped and reported separately because they overstate impact.

Remarketing is judged against a holdout share of the audience where possible; prospecting on viewable reach and engaged visits.

What we report

  • Viewable CPM
  • Remarketing conversion rate vs holdout
  • Placement quality score

Landing page and tracking implications

  • GA4 audiences shared with Google Ads
  • Consent-aware remarketing tags
  • Landing pages that continue where the visitor left off

Creative requirements

  • Responsive display assets plus key static sizes
  • Clear offer and brand in every frame
  • Product-level dynamic ads for ecommerce

How FOCUSADS manages it

FOCUSADS works through access to accounts you own. We do not claim certified or official partner status with any platform unless stated on this page.
  1. Placement report review every two weeks with exclusions logged
  2. Frequency caps per user per week
  3. Audience recency windows tuned to your sales cycle

How it works with other channels

Retargeting and remarketing
Display is one surface in the cross-channel retargeting plan.
Programmatic display
Larger budgets move to a DSP for better inventory control.

Questions buyers ask

Last reviewed:

Why did my Display campaign get many clicks but no sales? Usually app and game placements with accidental clicks. We exclude those categories and judge Display on viewable reach and holdout-tested remarketing.

Is Display the same as programmatic? Display is Google’s own network. Programmatic through a DSP gives access to more exchanges, deals and controls, at higher minimum budgets.

How often will people see my ads? We set frequency caps, typically a few impressions per person per week, adjusted to your sales cycle.

Is remarketing allowed under privacy rules? Yes with valid consent where required. Our tags respect your consent banner choices.
