Billboards on your buyers’ route

A billboard is seen for a few seconds by people moving at speed. The site and the message carry the whole result. Many campaigns fail on one or the other: a cheap site off the buyer’s route, or a design that tries to say five things.

FOCUSADS chooses billboard sites by traffic data and proximity to your locations, writes for a two-second read, and measures lift in the surrounding area.

Who it is for

  • Local and regional businesses on major routes
  • Car dealers, developers, hotels and attractions
  • Brand launches in a city

Who it is not for

  • Messages that need explanation
  • Audiences not defined by geography

How a booking works

FOCUSADS works through access to accounts you own. We do not claim certified or official partner status with any platform unless stated on this page.
  1. Site visits or street-view checks before booking
  2. Installation proof and condition checks

How it works with other channels

Google Search Ads
Search captures drivers who look you up.
Radio advertising
Radio reaches the same drivers in the car.

Proof of delivery

You receive the media owner’s own evidence, not our summary of it.
  • Dated photographs of each site or panel, from the media owner, within the first week.
  • Digital screens: play logs or impression reports per screen and day.
  • A site list with addresses and the dates each one ran.

Measurement by geo test

Attribution note. Impressions are modelled by media owners.

Regional lift in branded search, visits or bookings, compared with control areas.

What we report

  • Traffic-based impressions
  • Search lift nearby
  • Location visits

Landing page and tracking implications

  • Short URL or brand name to search
  • Regional baselines

Creative requirements

  • One message, brand, and next step
  • High contrast for distance reading

How response ties back to results

  1. Pick sites with matched control areas
  2. Track branded search and visits nearby
  3. Use a memorable short URL

Media owners we have checked

Sellers listed here were checked on their own advertising pages for that country, on the date shown. Whether we can run one for you still depends on your account, category and format.

Budget suitability

Test budgets are our planning guidance for a fair monthly test. Platform minimums are separate, and media is paid directly to platforms or media owners.

$5,000 to $30,000

Test budget, per month

Planning guidance per city; prices vary by site, size and season.

At US price levels the planner will not fund this channel below $15,000 of media a month per market, because the signal below that is too thin to act on. In other markets the threshold follows the local price level. That is our planning estimate, not a platform minimum.

Questions buyers ask

Last reviewed:

How many words fit on a billboard? About seven for roadside formats. Anything longer will not be read at driving speed.

Is a billboard better than social ads? They do different jobs. Billboards build visible local presence; social targets individuals. Plans often combine both.

How long should a billboard run? Usually at least four weeks to build frequency on the route.

Can you measure calls from a billboard? Only if call tracking is intentionally set up with a unique number. We do not publish numbers by default.
